Other/Offseason Rowing Programs
While TJ only rows in the spring, other programs offer summer and fall seasons on both the Occoquan and Potomac Rivers. These programs cater to all skill levels and help rowers gain a healthy variety of rowing experiences.
The offseason program most TJ Crew members join is Resilient Rowing. Resilient offers a Learn to Row program for prospective novices, a Developmental program we generally recommend to rowers with one season of experience, and a Competitive program for those who want to compete with some of the fastest rowers in northern Virginia. Resilient rows on the Occoquan.
Because so many TJ students tend to do Resilient Rowing, this program will be the easiest to find carpools for. TJ Crew captains will help set up carpools before each season to ensure everyone who wants to row will have a ride from TJ to the river.
The Resilient Rowing website better describes each of its programs and has instructions to register.
Following are links to other offseason programs in northern Virginia. Note that because fewer TJ students tend to join these programs, it may be more difficult to find carpools.
