Information & Registration
We're glad you've decided to row with us during the Spring season! Complete everything below to register.
Registering to Row
First, complete the USRowing Liability Waiver here. Then, complete the online registration process here. This will involve paying the team dues-- refund policies are stated in the registration portal. Once you've registered, congratulations! You're officially a member of the TJ Crew family. We're looking forward to seeing you thrive as a student athlete.
To complete your registration, submit all of the required forms on Docusign. You've already submitted some of these forms if you've attended Winter Conditioning. If you didn't attend Winter Conditioning, refer to this page for instructions on completing the VHSL physical form and concussion education.
Spring Season Information
Practice during the Spring season takes place at Sandy Run Regional Park (10450 Van Thompson Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039). Novice rowers will have practice on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of each week (Tuesday is off so that rowers can focus on schoolwork). Rowers will commute to the river during 8B on red days, and at the end of the school days on Anchor + Blue days, and practice will begin as soon as rowers arrive (typically around 4:45 PM).
Here's our Practice Schedule (mid February to late May):
- Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri . . . . . 4:45 PM to 7 PM
- Saturday . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 8 AM to 11 AM (except on regatta days)
Each Saturday for 6 weeks in the Spring, we have regattas instead of practices. Regattas are exciting racing opportunities for our rowers. Find more information about regattas here. We will also have practices over Spring break, which run from 8 AM to 1 PM Monday through Thursday (we break for lunch at the river, so bring food). Please communicate with coaches well in advance if you are traveling and will not be able to attend Spring break practices.
Note: When registering for TJ Crew, please ensure that you will be able to attend most of the practices listed above, as well as the regattas on our racing schedule; when you can't attend a practice or regatta, please let our coaching staff know in advance so they can plan properly.
