Physicals for TJ athletes on May 23

posted Apr 26, 2012, 3:11 AM by TJ Crew Webmaster

Dear Parents of TJ student athletes:

Every athlete needs a new athletic physical every school year so save a trip to the doctor's office. Need a BOY SCOUT or CAMP PHYSICAL at the same time? No problem, just make sure you bring all the forms with you on May 23.

The Athletic Trainers and Colonial Athletic Boosters are coordinating this popular at-school event to ensure that our athletes are ready for the 2012-2013 seasons. Medical professionals will perform the comprehensive physicals. The screening will check height, weight, body fat, vision, vital signs, whole body flexibility, strength, posture and see the medical professional.

ALL PHYSICALS MUST BE COMPLETED ON THE FORM marked Revised March 2011. You can pick up a new copy in the activities office or download one from the website under forms.

The physical is $50 for pre-registered students and $60 for walk-ins (taken after 6pm on space available basis) and all money goes to support TJ Athletics. Call the athletic training room at 703-750-8387 if you have any questions.

There are still open appointments for Wednesday, May 23 (time slots still available 4:30/5:00/5:30/6:00/6:30pm), to get your student's annual sports physical at TJ. Go to select PPE, and then register to select your appointment time. Physicals start at 4:30. Enter TJ at entrance 9 to the Aud Lob.

Volunteers (MDs, DOs, PACs, NPs, RNs, PTs) are still needed to conduct the physicals. We need parents to help make the sports physicals a successful event and non-medical parents who want to help with station data entry. Your expertise and a few hours of your time will greatly benefit our TJ athletes. Go to to sign up to help. Dinner will be provided for the volunteers who should show up by 3:45 to eat and get to their stations by 4:15. There will be a pasta buffet in Gym 2.

Thank you for all your support. See you on the sidelines. If you have questions, please contact me at or
