Winter Training

Strong work at winter conditioning leads to faster boats come spring. We are excited to get started.

DATE AND TIME - Winter conditioning will begin Thursday, November 16, 2017 and run to Friday, February 17, 2017, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.

It is optional and run on a drop-in basis. Athletes should come as often as they are able. No advance sign-up or reservation required.

LOCATION -  at TJ. Einstein Commons (and environs).

WINTER TRAINING (WT) FORMS - Only 3 forms are needed to participate in winter training.

All participants will need:

  • An athletic training pass, which covers the VHSL physical AND student AND parent concussion education. (See next subheading for information on the pass.)
  • 3 copies of the Emergency Care Information Form (available at https://www.fcps.edu/sites/default/files/media/forms/se3_0.pdf), signed by a parent/guardian.
  • A Weight Room Parent Authorization Form (click here to download), signed by a parent/guardian. This form is optional, but required to participate in winter training trips to the weight room..

ATHLETIC TRAINING PASS - All students who wish to train will need get a pass from the athletic trainers. Students can get passes ONLY when they have turned in valid VHSL physical AND completed both the student AND parent concussion education online (https://www.fcps.edu/activities/concussion-education).

All 3 requirements must be met to receive a pass. VHSL physicals and FCPS concussion education are valid for one school year, so students who have participated in a fall sport (or completed and turned in their requirements early) may just go get a pass!

The athletic trainers will be giving passes to qualified students on certain announced days or whenever the training room is open after school.

Coaches cannot collect physicals this year. Students without a pass will not be allowed to train at winter training.

PICKUP AT END OF PRACTICE - Practice will end at 6:00 p.m. Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation home.
